Ups and downs

Xuni: Hey, Blanca, you look a bit down. What's the matter?
Blanca: Oh, I've just heard that my best friend's father has got a job in USA, and she's moving away
Xuni: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. It isn't the end of the world though
Blanca: I know, but I'm really going to miss her
Xuni: don't take it too badly- at least you can visit her on summer holidays. USA is really cool.
Blanca: That's true, I supose
Xuni: Look at it this way- if he's father hadn't got the job there maybe she will be disappointed with him...
Blanca: Yeah, maybe you're right
Xuni: Cheer up! Com on- let's go to a café or something
Blanca: OK. Thanks, Xuni. I feel a bit better now.

The Royal Wedding

Write an opinion essay

Should the government introduce school on Saturday mornings?

The government plans ti introduce school on Saturdays mornings in order to improve the level of education. In my opinion, this would have some negative consequences with the students and their families, too.

I strongly disagree to introduce school on Saturdays mornings, because I know that maybe at the beginning all students will improve the level of their students, but after a while, all of them will be tired and fed up with going to school. By the end, no students would work to get the ESO certificate.

If the aim of the government is improve the level of education, I think that there are better alternatives like raising the level of the school at primary. All students who have to start in first of ESO will have a better level, and when they will be finishing the secondary school they will have better academics results.

HOW TO LIVE WITH PARENTS

When you’re a teenager, you have lo live with your parents. And live with parents means have rules. They always says: Clean your room! Or pick up the clothes of the bathroom floor. And sometimes you think: ‘I want to live alone!’ but it isn’t true, because the teenagers won some independence, but don’t wont have to clean the kitchen or the clothes, and less live alone, because it will be a lot of responsibility.

So, I think that you have to be comprehensive, because they are teaching you to be a mature adult. And, they are paying our live! But they do all of that because they really care about us, because they love us a lot.

G - Didn't you see the sign?
D - No, I'm afraid not.
G - Have you been here before to drink something?
D - No, that's the first time I come.
G - Well, if I were you, I'd look for a different place.
D - OK. Sorry about that. I didn't realize.
G - That's OK. Remember for the next time.
